Visiting Lecturer in Political Science
The Department of Political Science invites applications for a one-year Visiting Lecturer position beginning August 2017 to teach courses on public administration and policy. The Visiting Lecturer will teach our core introductory course on public administration and policy, supervise students and teach the corresponding Spring 2018 course for our internship program, plus teach other courses to be determined in consultation with the applicant.
Candidates must have a minimum of a MA degree. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Political Science, Public Policy, or Public Administration, or a nearly completed dissertation in one of these fields. Candidates must also provide evidence of quality undergraduate teaching experience.
This is a full-time, nine-month position that includes health insurance benefits, and full access to the research facilities at UMBC.
The department has over 250 undergraduate majors, and 15 full-time faculty members with a wide range of research and teaching interests. Department faculty also support the MPP and PhD programs in Public Policy, the undergraduate program in Global Studies, and the Sondheim Public Affairs Scholars Program.
