Maryland Student Legislature is a statewide organization which provides students with the opportunity to voice their opinions by writing and debating legislation. We are a student model of Maryland’s legislative’s branch – the Maryland General Assembly. The bills we pass are forwarded to the Maryland General Assembly for consideration. UMBC’s delegation meets weekly to teach and practice legislative skills and help members prepare their legislation. Participating students are eligible to earn academic credit by enrolling in POLI 341 (Legislative Simulation).
